There is nothing more spectacular than the human spirit. Lincoln personified it and he paid the ultimate sacrifice – assassination. The Lincoln Presenters are men who took up the mantel of leadership to uphold Lincoln’s morals and beliefs based on freedom, truth, integrity, and dignity. The Presenters live, teach, and perpetuate the Lincoln spirit. After reading Teams of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln, I had a calling to capture that spirit with dignified and heroic portraits. The Presenters are not superficial and to give distinction, clarity, and stature to the portraits, I used an 8x10 camera. They not only want to physically resemble Lincoln, but also look to keep Lincoln’s beliefs alive as a tribute to American values and democracy. The Presenters symbolize what Lincoln believed in universally.
